Maya Morsy meets Algerian Minister to Discuss Efforts to Empower Women Economically

Maya Morsy, President of Egypt’s National Council for Women (NCW), discussed efforts to economically empower women with Algerian Minister of National Solidarity Kawthar Krekou.

During the sidelines of the 68th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women in New York, a meeting was conducted to discuss the programs and initiatives of the National Commission for Women (NCW) related to the financial inclusion of women. As per the statement by the Council on Wednesday 20/3/2024, the focus of the meeting was entirely on NCW’s various programs and initiatives.

A statement released by the Council on Wednesday, 20th March 2024, stated that a meeting was held during the 68th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women in New York. The meeting was centered on discussing the National Commission for Women’s (NCW) programs and initiatives aimed at promoting financial inclusion for women.

Morsy updated on NCW’s women empowerment efforts. NCW offers training workshops & production units for skill development in crafts and supports women entrepreneurs in establishing small, medium, and micro-sized enterprises while guiding them on marketing strategies.

During a meeting, President Morsy emphasized Egypt’s commitment to countering all forms of violence against women. The gathering aimed to highlight the successful efforts of Egypt and Algeria in promoting women’s empowerment and expertise in this regard.
