Maya Morsi Hosts Federation of Chambers of Commerce Members to Discuss Women’s Economic Empowerment
Dr. Maya Morsi, President of the NCW, received female members from the Women and Business Committee of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce at the Council’s headquarters to discuss ways of cooperation regarding women’s economic empowerment.
The meeting explored methods to raise the competencies of working women and how to increase employability. Additionally, it focuses on digital education initiatives, business digitization, and e-marketing to save costs for women wishing to pursue self-employment.
The NCW president reviewed the council’s efforts in implementing the axes of the national strategy for the empowerment of Egyptian women in 2030, especially the axis of women’s economic empowerment.
Morsi praised the success stories of female entrepreneurs and stressed the importance of documenting these successful and inspiring experiences to be a source of inspiration for many girls. She believes it will contribute to expanding the circle of benefits and providing an opportunity for more female entrepreneurs in Egypt to establish small, medium, and micro projects, in addition to studying the necessary needs for the current stage. Mays indicated the importance of cooperation with female entrepreneurs in savings and loan projects or micro-enterprises.
At the end of the meeting, the Council adopted an initiative of female entrepreneurs entitled “A Role for Good,” which aims to encourage those who can buy what is available to them of in-kind commodities and food products and leave them in a place designated for that and known in all governorates.
