President of the National Council for Women, Dr. Maya Morsi, appealed to the United Nations to urgently intervene to bring about a ceasefire in Gaza, stating: In the name of humanity, we call on the United Nations and the Secretary-General of the United Nations to request a ceasefire in Gaza. Hospitals are being bombed.
On their part, the United Nations asserted that UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will meet in Egypt with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to discuss how to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, which is under constant attacks from Israel.
Spokesman Stephane Dujarric explained that Guterres will meet with the Egyptian President and other officials in Cairo to talk about the Israeli war on Hamas in response to the surprise attacks launched by the Palestinian movement on October 7.
Moreover, Dujarric’s statement added that Guterres is also scheduled to speak on Saturday at an international conference sponsored by President El-Sisi.
