Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met on Wednesday 11/1/2023 with the CEO of China’s BGI Genomics, a subsidiary of BGI Group, the world’s leading integrated solutions provider of precision medicine.
The meeting reviewed ways and mechanisms for boosting cooperation between the two sides.
A spokesman for the Health and Population Ministry Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said the ministry has established new central laboratories in Badr city at the behest of the president as per global criteria.
Abdel Ghaffar said the talks also took up how to expand genetic tests services offered to citizens through central laboratories for the early detection of genetic disorders.
He added the meeting probed expanding services of tests and analyses to citizens through healthcare units in different governorates as part of the president’s initiative supporting healthcare units services.
