Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry asserted Egypt’s keenness on the success of the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) to reach the aspired results.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid stated that the foreign minister said efforts are underway to put into effect the decisions, recommendations, and resolutions of the COP27, which Egypt hosted last November, especially regarding the Loss and Damage Fund.

Shoukry made the remarks during a virtual meeting of the COP office on the fringe of ongoing meetings in Bonn.

The office meetings tackled a number of top-priority issues of international climate action.

The talks also discussed the ongoing preparations for COP28, due to be held in the UAE by the end of the year.
