Fayoum Governor Oversees the implementation of the “Irada” program

Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansari, Governor of Fayoum, continued the latest procedures for implementing the “Irada” program, one of the programs of the Development Foundation for Business Women Entrepreneurs “Awtad”, for the economic empowerment of women of determination, and their integration in the creative value chains of hand-crafted products, up to the stage of production quality and marketing.

The meeting discussed the latest procedures for implementing the “Irada” program, one of the programs of the “Awtad” Foundation, to empower women of determination economically in various villages in the several centers of Fayoum Governorate, by training 120 candidates, in the age group from 18 to 45 years, on crafts and hand-crafted products and entrepreneurship. Additionally, it aimed to integrate them into value chains while developing their creative aspects to reach quality in the production process and offer them opportunities, outlets, and marketing platforms, within the framework of sustainable development for the targets.

The program is a joint effort between Fayoum Governorate and the Foundation in collaboration with the National Council for Women and multiple relevant authorities.

During the meeting, the Governor of Fayoum emphasized training women of determination in villages, targeting handicraft workers and others, and the need for sustainability in the implementation of the “Irada” program. He described it as a glimmer of hope for beneficiaries with special needs, as it reaches them near their places of residence and helps localize their creative crafts. He also indicated that the governorate has a long history and a great legacy in hand-crafted and traditional products.

The head of the Businesswomen’s Development Foundation for Entrepreneurship “Awtad” pointed out that an online store will be created to market creative products for beneficiary women in the near future through a commercial identity bearing the name “Nafees”, in addition to training many cadres to deal optimally with people with needs. And training entities that deal with these groups on the marketing aspects of their products and forming the first generation of women entrepreneurs of determination. She added that the program initiated in greater Cairo and is currently expanding in the governorates of Fayoum and Aswan with the assistance of NCW.

Attending the meeting held in the General Court of Fayoum Governorate was Dr. Mohamed Emad, Deputy Governor, Major General Abdel Fattah Tammam, Secretary General of Fayoum Governorate, Eng. Allam, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Development Foundation for Business Women for Entrepreneurship “Awtad”, Khaled Siddiq, Coordinator of the “Irada” program in the Foundation, Accountant Laila Taha Qassem, Rapporteur of the NCW in Fayoum, Dr. Nashwa Hussein, Head of the People of Determination Unit in the General Court of Fayoum Governorate, and Ashraf Darwish, Head of the Branch The Agency for the Development of SMEs and Micro Enterprises, heads and representatives of city councils, Social Solidarity, Manpower, Education, and Civil Associations.
