Environment Minister Meets Her Somali Counterpart

Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad said Egypt is currently focusing on implementing national programs in different environment domains, such as files of wastes and reserves, boosting environment investment, and creating more partnerships with the private sector.

Fouad’s remarks came during her meeting with Somali Minister of Environment and Climate Change Khadija al-Makhzoumi on Wednesday, May 10, to discuss ways of future cooperation between the two countries and the signing of a joint executive program.

Fouad expressed pleasure in cooperating with the Somalia side in promoting the national file for the environment and building the required capabilities to boost environmental action in Somalia.

In turn, the Somali environment minister said she is looking forward to fostering joint cooperation with Egypt in the environment and benefiting from the Egyptian expertise in environment and climate files.
