Egypt’s Tax Authority Accelerates Digital Services to Streamline Tax Filing Process

Head of Egypt’s Tax Authority,Rasha Abdel Aal,  has reaffirmed the continued development of digital services to streamline the tax filing process and provide essential support to taxpayers during the peak tax season.

Abdel Aal highlighted that the Digital Services Center located at the General Treasury in Lazoughly, Cairo, plays a critical role in offering full assistance to taxpayers in electronically submitting their tax returns. The center’s specialized team to provide immediate support and guidance.

“We are constantly expanding our digital services to ensure that all taxpayers, wherever they are, have access to the necessary resources,” said Abdel Aal, adding that efforts are underway to open new digital centers and services across various governorates to further facilitate the process.

The Digital Services Center not only assists with tax returns but also provides services related to the electronic invoicing system, electronic receipts, and digital signatures. With 30 dedicated service windows, the center is designed to deliver high-quality professional support to all taxpayers.

Abdel Aal also emphasized the Authority’s commitment to improving taxpayer experience and building trust between taxpayers and the Tax Authority. As part of these efforts, the Tax Authority has partnered with Egypt’s professional syndicates—such as the Actors Syndicate, Cinematic Professions Syndicate, and Musicians Syndicate—to provide tailored technical support to their members during the tax filing season.

This collaboration includes the deployment of Tax Authority representatives at these syndicates’ offices on a weekly basis to assist with the completion of tax returns, answer legal and tax-related queries, and guide members through the registration process in electronic tax systems.

The partnership aims to remove obstacles faced by artists and creatives in filing their tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws in an efficient and streamlined manner. “We are committed to offering technical and awareness support to both individuals and organizations, fostering a collaborative relationship between the Tax Authority and the taxpaying community,” Abdel Aal concluded.

For additional assistance or inquiries, taxpayers can contact the Egyptian Tax Authority through its dedicated hotlines: 16395 for general queries and 16189 for reporting tax evasion, available from 9 AM to 4 PM, Sunday through Thursday.
