Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, met with General Electric’s delegates at Arab Health Exhibition in Dubai, UAE. The exhibition takes place from January 28 to February 1, 2024. During the event, the minister discussed the progress of previous agreements and future collaboration in the medical sector.

They also discussed providing state-of-the-art diagnostic devices to the Egyptian medical sector. This includes tomography, MRI, catheter, digital imaging, ultrasound, and mammography machines. This cooperation aims to enhance the quality of diagnostic services offered in hospitals.

The ministry collaborates with GE to upgrade outdated tomography machines with modern ones, resulting in improved efficiency of service. Additionally, General Electric supplied new tomography machines to the ministry’s hospitals.

The collaboration extended to the enhancement of magnetic resonance devices, equipping them with the latest diagnostic protocols. This effort supported the presidential initiative for early disease detection. It is also poised to make a significant impact on the healthcare landscape, benefitting patients and healthcare providers alike.

Moreover, the ministry and General Electric joined forces in the presidential initiative to promote women’s health. This included the development of four mobile mammography units and the upgrade of the mammography machine in the Women’s Health Unit of the Radiology Department.

Another noteworthy project resulting from the ministry’s cooperation with General Electric is the mobile radiology units initiative. This initiative aimed to provide citizens across the country with access to high-quality diagnostic services. As part of this effort, a mobile computed tomography unit was introduced.
