Egypt’s First Lady Attends International Women’s Day Celebrations

 

Egyptian First Lady Entissar El Sisi attended Women’s Day Celebrations, on Saturday evening, and voiced her happiness for attending such an event which marks March 8, honoring several women who made a change in their local communities as well as influential female professionals, according to “Egypt Today”.

Her excellency expressed her happiness, saying “I was very pleased today to attend International Women’s Day celebrations titled “The Egyptian woman, an icon of success,” according to the First Lady’s official Facebook page.

“President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has been keen over the past years to give attention to the status of Egyptian women and to appreciate their role in society. Today, women assume vital positions that were not available for women in the past,” she added.

She honored many Egyptian women who succeeded in their careers despite life’s hardships. For instance, the First Lady honored Amal Ismail, the first Egyptian woman to obtain a Master’s degree at the age of 80 years old, a female carpenter in Minya, Upper Egypt, was also honored by the First Lady.
