Egypt’s Apparel Export Council Takes Part in Destination Africa to Promote Local Exports

The Apparel Export Council is participating in organizing the international exhibition “Destination Africa” during the period from November 14 to 15 in Egypt, in cooperation with the Egyptian Exporters Association “Expo Link” and the Yarn and Textile Export Council, with the participation of 85 exhibitors from several African countries.

President of the Apparel Export Council, Marie-Louis Bishara, stressed that the Destination Africa 2023 edition is a great opportunity to promote the great development achieved by the national ready-made clothing, spinning, and textile industry over the past years in terms of product quality within the framework of Egyptian efforts to transform into a center for exporting complete products worldwide.

In her statements, the president of the council revealed the participation of approximately 150 foreign buyers in Destination Africa, the only exhibition in Egypt specialized in bilateral business meetings for B2B export.

She further confirmed that the exhibition represents an opportunity to increase the exports of the sectors participating in the seventh edition of the exhibition, noting that Destination Africa contributes to creating industrial integration between Egyptian companies and factories and their Arab and international counterparts.

According to Bishara, Several workshops and discussion sessions are scheduled to showcase sustainability in spinning, weaving, and ready-made clothing, and the efforts of the Clothing Export Council in applying sustainability standards, preserving the environment, and supporting the circular economy and clean and green energy, as well as proposals for developing production lines and developing long staples cotton cultivation and the use of modern irrigation methods as well as automated harvesting to improve the quality of exports.
