President Abdel Fattah El Sisi ordered to promote efforts for generating green hydrogen in light of the growing value-added of green hydrogen projects.
As per the Presidential Spokesman, Ahmed Fahmy, El-Sisi shared his remarks during a meeting on Saturday, February 11, with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly and Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker.
During the meeting, Shaker reviewed the current progress in several projects in the electricity sector, especially those relying on wind and solar energy, in cooperation with foreign partners.
He further reviewed developments pertinent to drawing on international expertise in generating green hydrogen using renewable energy under the relevant national strategy.
The President also gave directives to keep implementing national plans related to enhancing the role of renewable energy and magnifying its value to diversify energy supply sources, on which industrial, agricultural, and urban development depends in Egypt.
This falls within the framework of Egypt’s strategy for integrated and sustainable energy, which aims to get renewable energy to represent 42% of the electrical energy mix in Egypt by 2035.
