Egyptian PM Witnesses Signing of Final Contract to Develop “Safaga 2” Plant

Yesterday, Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli witnessed the inking of a final contract to develop the superstructure, operate and maintain a multi-purpose plant at Safaga Port.

The contract calls for the creation of the Abu Dhabi Ports Alliance “Public Joint Stock Company” (Golden Anchor Ships Operator Limited, Silver Anchor Facilities Management Limited) and the commitment to build and develop the superstructure as well as use, manage, operate, maintain, and re-deliver a multi-purpose terminal within the boundaries of Safaga Port in Safaga City to Safaga Terminals Operating Company, an Egyptian joint stock company with a unique free zones system.

The operating company will have a 30-year commitment period beginning on the day the project’s land is turned over.

A group of businesses led by Abu Dhabi Ports Co., Golden Anchor Ships Operator Limited, and Silver Anchor Facilities Management Limited will run the “Safaga 2” plant using a free zone system.
