Egyptian Cabinet Addresses Rumors that Holders of Saudi Arabian Visa Will Be Allowed to Perform Hajj

by Nada Khaled

Earlier today, the Cabinet Media Center dismissed false reports that Egyptians holding a visa to Saudi Arabia will be allowed to perform Hajj (pilgrimage) this year.

In a statement, the Cabinet confirmed that it contacted the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, which denied the news and described them as groundless rumors.

The statement clearly read: Those allowed to perform Hajj must hold a pilgrimage visa.

Moreover, the media center appealed to all media outlets and social media users to verify the reports before publishing them and contact the Cabinet to avoid confusion.
