Egypt selected guest of honor at World Government Summit 2023 in UAE

According to Ahram online, the Egyptian government reviewed preparations for Egypt’s participation in the event following a formal invitation extended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, to President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi to attend the summit, according to a statement released by the Egyptian cabinet following the meeting.

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly thanked the UAE for the gesture and affirmed the ongoing cooperation between both countries to ensure the successful organization of the summit.

Egyptian Ministers of Planning and Economic Development Hala El-Said and Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat, as well as several Emirati ministers, attended the meeting.

WGS 2023 will be held under the theme of ‘Shaping Future Governments’.

Global leaders, experts, and several decision-makers are expected to attend the gathering to contribute to the development of tools, policies, and models that will be critical in shaping future governments.

The WGS was kicked off in 2013.

A special celebration for Egypt is set to be held on the sidelines of the three-day summit, said Minister of UAE Cabinet Affairs Mohammad Al-Gergawi who attended the meeting.
