Egypt Investigates Into Shooting Canadian-Israeli Businessman

On May 7th, a Canadian-Israeli businessman was shot dead in Alexandria, Egypt. The Egyptian authorities have initiated a thorough investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the murder.

The victim, identified as Ziv Kipper,  CEO at OK Group LLC, a prominent frozen fruits and vegetables company based in Egypt. Ziv Kipper, a dual citizen, had been living in Egypt for over nine years, residing in Alexandria where the company’s headquarters were situated.

In response, the Egyptian Ministry of Interior promptly took action by forming a dedicated team assigned to the case, as they strive to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Amidst the ongoing investigations, a circulating unverified statement on social media claimed responsibility for the murder on behalf of an alleged jihadist group, known as The Vanguard of Liberation Group for Martyr Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian Ministry of Interior posted on social media, stating, “Legal measures were taken, and a team was formed to uncover the circumstances of the incident.” On the other hand, The Israeli Embassy in Cairo reached out with the Egyptian authorities investigating the case.
