Egypt’s Dar Al-Iftaa announced today, Tuesday, February 21, is the first day of the month of Sha’ban for the 1444 Hijri year.
In a statement on Monday, February 20, Dar Al-Iftaa said its affiliated committees sighted the crescent that marks the end of Rajab and the start of Sha’ban.
Sha’ban is the eighth month of the Islamic calendar. It is the last lunar month before the holy fasting month of Ramadan.
Mufti Shawqi Allam extended his greetings on this occasion to President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi, the Egyptian people, the heads of Arab and Muslim states, and all Muslims worldwide.
