The Cairo International Book Fair has achieved a remarkable milestone, surpassing one million visitors in just three days since its opening, according to Egypt’s Ministry of Culture. The fair, themed “Creating Knowledge… Preserving the Word,” commenced on January 25 and will continue until February 6.
The Egyptian General Book Authority reported that on the third day alone, the fair welcomed 404,931 visitors, bringing the total attendance to 1,009,983 visitors. With participation from 1,200 publishing houses representing 70 countries, the event takes place in five exhibition halls. It also features an impressive lineup of 500 events that encompass a wide range of literary and cultural topics.
As the oldest book fair in the Arab world, first established in 1969, the Cairo International Book Fair holds a prominent position as one of the largest book fairs globally.
