Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli asserted that the different bodies of the state are moving towards a breakthrough in the Egyptian economy in the coming period.
Madbouli asserted that no authority of the state would increase, impose or amend any fees without returning directly to the cabinet within the framework of the efforts of the government to maintain the stability of the market during the coming period.
This came during a press conference held by Madbouli in Alexandria Port, during his visit to Alexandria, to follow up the flow of customs measures on goods at the port at the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
Madbouli started his visit to Alexandria by inspecting Misr Station square which was renovated and improved. He said that the problem of vendors, which was challenging, was solved.
Madbouli also spoke about the renovations at Alexandria Port and addition of a new number of docks, noting that different ports in Egypt are being upgraded to serve the trade movement.
He said that the renovation of the Egyptian ports aims at making Egypt an international logistic center, adding that there is a close follow up to the different measures in the port during the customs clearance operation.
Madbouli asserted that a number of containers in the Egyptian ports will be released during the coming few days.
Madbouli said that the priority in the customs clearance, during the coming period, will be for the food supplies and production materials which enter in the different food and medicine industries especially in light of preparation for the holy month of Ramadan, asserting the dire need for factories to operate in full capacity.
The government pays attention to the file of protecting the citizens from the greed of the merchants, he said, adding that the government is working for providing goods for Egyptians and the return of the industrial movement to meet people’s demands.
