Banks to Suspend Work Tomorrow on Occasion of Sinai Liberation Day

by Nada Khaled

The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has issued a statement declaring that all Egyptian banks operating in Egypt will remain closed on Thursday, April 25, in honor of the Sinai Liberation Day.

The decision to suspend work on this day has been taken to commemorate the sacrifices made by the Egyptian armed forces to liberate Sinai from Israeli occupation in 1982.

The CBE has further announced that normal banking operations will resume on Sunday, April 28.
