Aya Muhammad Reda, a law graduate, spoke about her journey of painting on canvas and women’s bags with “El Youm 7”.

She said during her interview: I loved drawing since childhood, and I used to study art, but because of my GPA, I didn’t get into the Faculty of Fine Arts and studied at the Faculty of Law instead; I felt frustrated at the time and stopped drawing, but after a while, I felt nostalgic and started drawing again.

Reda loved art from an early age, and she did not see it as a mere hobby, but rather took it seriously and developed her craft and tools. She started drawing on paper, clothes, and handmade bags.

She added her own artistic touch with pharaonic drawings inspired by the ancient Egyptian civilization, which supported her advocacy to spread Egyptian civilization.

Aya wanted to send messages to women through the pharaonic drawings on the bags, which added to women’s elegance and encouraged them to constantly aspire to develop themselves.

She shared: The drawings are all inspired by the most famous monuments of our country, such as the ankh, which was a symbol of life for the pharaohs, the Egyptian scarab with its beautiful, distinctive colors, the eye of Horus, the lotus flower, a symbol of beauty and love, and Queen Nefertiti, who is the most powerful woman in Egypt, as a message to support Egyptian women and urge her to be strong, beautiful and positive.

Regarding her tendency to draw pharaonic drawings on handmade bags, the talented artist said: Any country would be keen to reflect its identity on clothes and jewelry. That is why I wanted to reflect my identity and Egyptian heritage through my paintings on handmade bags made by Egyptians and highlight the art and beauty of ancient Egypt.

Reda finally concluded by saying: The bag is made of Egyptian natural leather and designed by Egyptian hands. I hope it reaches people from all around the world, so that I can convey my message and let foreigners know how proud we are of our Egyptian civilization and identity. I also aim to encourage tourism in Egypt, as everyone who sees my bags will remember Egypt and its monuments and would want to come and see them up close.
