Egyptian Member of Parliament Dr. Nashwa Akl has described the country’s women as enduring partners in Egypt’s national development, emphasizing their expanding role since the July 23 Revolution and highlighting the significant progress achieved in recent years.
Marking the 74th anniversary of the July Revolution, Dr. Akl said the occasion offers an opportunity to reflect on the milestones that have shaped modern Egypt, particularly the advancement of women’s rights and their growing participation in national development. She noted that the revolution helped establish the principles of social justice and equal opportunity, values that have continued to evolve over the decades.
Dr. Akl stated that Egypt has witnessed unprecedented progress in women’s empowerment under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, pointing to increased representation in decision-making positions, expanded social protection programs, wider access to education and employment, and stronger economic empowerment initiatives.
She stressed that the Egyptian state recognizes women as indispensable partners in building society and achieving sustainable development, adding that meaningful national progress cannot be achieved without their active participation across all sectors.
According to Dr. Akl, the New Republic has placed people at the center of development through initiatives aimed at improving quality of life, promoting social justice, and empowering both women and young people. She said these priorities reflect the national values associated with the July Revolution, including equality, opportunity, and inclusive development.
Concluding her remarks, Dr. Akl described the anniversary as an opportunity to renew the values of patriotism, dedication, and public service. She also called for continued national unity in support of Egypt’s development journey and expressed appreciation for President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Armed Forces, the Egyptian people, and everyone contributing to the country’s future.
