EgyptAir is accelerating its fleet modernization with the addition of 34 new aircraft, including 16 Airbus A350-900s and 18 Boeing 737-8 Max jets. By fiscal year 2030/2031, this expansion will bring the national carrier’s total fleet to 97 aircraft, reinforcing its position as a leading connector between Egypt and global markets.
The Airbus A350-900s, powered by Rolls-Royce engines, will redefine EgyptAir’s long-haul operations with quieter cabins, enhanced fuel efficiency, and advanced in-flight entertainment. Meanwhile, the Boeing 737-8 Max jets will modernize the airline’s short- and medium-haul routes, delivering smoother flights, reduced noise, and improved cabin air quality.
Transforming the Passenger Experience
The fleet upgrade is set to significantly enhance EgyptAir’s customer experience. “Newer aircraft translate directly into greater comfort, reliability, and service consistency,” said aviation analyst Hany Saad. “Passengers will notice improvements in everything from seating comfort and cabin ambiance to onboard technology and flight smoothness.”
EgyptAir CEO Roshdy Zakaria emphasized that the expansion is part of a broader strategy to elevate service standards. “This investment allows us to offer more frequent flights, reduce delays, and ensure that every journey reflects the safety, comfort, and quality our passengers expect,” he said.
The airline also plans to leverage the efficiency of its new fleet to optimize operating costs, enabling more competitive fares and the potential to expand destinations in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
ISO Renewals
In a further boost to operational excellence, EgyptAir has successfully renewed its ISO certifications for the 19th consecutive year without any non-conformities or observations. The certifications — ISO 9001:2015, 14001:2015, 45001:2018, and 10002:2018 — cover quality management, environmental responsibility, occupational health and safety, and customer satisfaction measurement. Following an inspection by GIC Egypt, the airline confirmed that the achievement underscores its commitment to applying international standards across all air transport operations.
Chairman and CEO Ahmed Adel described the ISO renewals as among the highest international accreditations in these fields, emphasizing that they reflect EgyptAir’s dedication to continuous development and improving service levels for passengers. “The primary objective of obtaining these certifications is to ensure operational safety and enhance airline efficiency, reflecting our commitment to implementing all international safety and quality standards in line with our position as a global airline and leading carrier in the Middle East and Africa,” he said.
Positioning for Global Competitiveness
By adopting the latest aircraft technology, EgyptAir aligns itself with international aviation standards, enhancing operational efficiency while strengthening its competitive position in regional and global markets. Passengers can expect a smoother, more comfortable, and reliable travel experience as the deliveries roll out in the coming years.
