Egypt’s Aya Waleed El-Diasty, a rising star in track and field, is one of the rare talents. Representing the Talented Athletes and Olympic Champions Program, El-Diasty has proven she can excel both on the track and in the classroom, pursuing a degree in Sports Science at Mansoura University while claiming top honors in competition.
At the 8th Arab Clubs Women’s Games 2026, held in Sharjah, UAE, El-Diasty dominated the field, capturing two gold medals. She triumphed in the heptathlon with standout performances: 15.12 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles, 1.70 meters in the high jump, 9.38 meters in the shot put, 26.42 seconds in the 200-meter sprint, 5.24 meters in the long jump, 21.75 meters in the javelin throw, and a strong finish in the 800 meters at 2:33.64 minutes. She then secured gold in the high jump, clearing 1.63 meters.
El-Diasty views her academic and athletic pursuits as complementary. “True success comes from balance,” she said. “Studying Sports Science is not just about a degree—it’s an essential part of my athletic journey. It helps me understand my body, refine my techniques, and perform at my best.”
Her achievements extend beyond 2026. El-Diasty won high jump gold at the 2024 Arab Clubs Women’s Games, and earned silver and bronze medals at the 53rd Egyptian University Championships, representing Mansoura University in sprint and jump events. Her versatility across multiple disciplines highlights her status as one of Egypt’s most promising young athletes.
Aya’s story is as much about perseverance as it is about medals. “Every record, every victory, comes from years of dedication and sacrifice,” she explained. “Track and field is not just a sport for me—it’s a way of life. Challenges push me to give my absolute best.”
Further, El-Diasty aims to represent Egypt on the global stage, inspiring young athletes to pursue their dreams. “I encourage every young person to chase their goals with determination and passion,” she said. “No obstacle should stand in the way of your ambitions. With hard work, we can achieve the impossible.”
