In a bold move to reshape the economic landscape for Egyptian women, the National Council for Women (NCW) has launched the “Enty El Hayah” (“You Are Life”) initiative in partnership with the Hayah Karima Foundation. The program aims to raise awareness around essential societal issues, while placing a sharp focus on women’s economic empowerment through financial inclusion.
Speaking on the “Noon Al-Qimma” talk show on Extra News, Nashwa Mostafa, Director of the Financial Inclusion Program at NCW, emphasized that financial inclusion is “a cornerstone for sustainable development,” and a vital tool for improving the financial well-being of women and families across the country.
She stressed that reaching women with these services is not merely an economic effort but a social transformation, helping women gain the autonomy, resources, and confidence to take control of their financial futures.
Tackling Social and Cultural Barriers
Mostafa also addressed the societal and cultural challenges that often stand in the way of women accessing financial services. She pointed out that the Council is actively working to break down these barriers through awareness campaigns, advisory programs, and the adoption of digital banking technologies.
Real Impact on the Ground
The initiative has already made significant strides:
Over 400,000 women across urban and rural regions have been reached, a testament to the campaign’s effectiveness in shifting mindsets and changing societal narratives around women and money.
This mass outreach signals a pivotal cultural movement in Egypt—where women are not just participating in the economy, but leading families and communities into financial independence.
