Dr. Wael Akl, President of Nile University, stated that the Nile Innovation Valley will serve as an integrated ecosystem that includes universities, research and development centers, technology marketing units, and innovation incubators and accelerators. Akl emphasized that the initiative is designed to create over 52,000 direct and indirect job opportunities over the next decade, incubate 200 startups in the advanced technology sector, and expedite the establishment of 400 additional companies in the near future.

Egypt’s Ministry of Health Partners with AstraZeneca to Launch “Doctor’s Beginning” Program to Upskill Egyptian Physicians
In alignment with the presidential initiative “A New Beginning for Building Human Capital,” Egypt’s Ministry of Health and AstraZeneca Egypt have signed a collaboration agreement to launch the “Doctor’s Beginning” program. This initiative is designed to enhance the skills of Egyptian physicians, strengthening the country’s healthcare system as part of the broader Vision 2030 goals.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, along with Dr. Hatem El Wardani, Chairman of AstraZeneca Egypt, and in the presence of Dr. Gareth Bayley, the British Ambassador to Egypt, and Dr. Hani Atiba, President of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow. The program aims to provide comprehensive training for newly graduated doctors, focusing on primary care and family medicine, with specialized courses covering the latest treatment protocols, early disease detection, and improving healthcare service delivery.
Dr. Abdel Ghaffar emphasized that the launch of the “Doctor’s Beginning” program highlights Egypt’s commitment to equipping its medical professionals with globally accredited training. This initiative is an important step toward building a healthcare system capable of meeting the needs of its citizens with the highest international standards.
The program will offer accredited courses from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow, covering key medical specialties such as cardiology, nephrology, vascular medicine, pulmonology, immunology, oncology, and chronic diseases. The training will focus on early diagnosis and treatment using state-of-the-art medical techniques, ensuring that Egyptian healthcare professionals are equipped with the skills needed to provide top-tier care.
