During the Egyptian-Bahraini Governmental Committee’s session, Egypt’s Minister of Planning, Dr. Rania Al Mashat, met with H.E. Noor bint Ali Khalifa, Bahrain’s Minister of Sustainable Development and CEO of the Economic Development Board, to explore avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation and exchanging expertise on sustainable development.
The two ministers engaged in a constructive discussion on key areas of collaboration, aligning their efforts with the development priorities of both nations to drive sustainable growth and foster economic resilience.
Dr. Al Mashat expressed her appreciation to Bahrain for its warm hospitality and successful hosting of the joint committee sessions. She emphasized the significance of these meetings in facilitating an open exchange of ideas, which further reinforces the deepening relationship between Egypt and Bahrain across various sectors, especially in trade, economy, and technology.
Praising the longstanding and cooperative ties between the two nations, Dr. Al Mashat highlighted Egypt’s ongoing commitment, under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to strengthening strategic partnerships with Bahrain. She noted that Egypt’s focus is on enhancing cooperation in all fields and advancing efforts to transform their relations into a robust, multifaceted strategic partnership.
The Minister further emphasized the importance of continuous dialogue between the two countries’ ministries and agencies to identify new opportunities, enhance collaboration in areas such as economic and technical cooperation, and increase trade and investment. She also stressed the need for innovative solutions that respond to the rapidly changing global landscape.
Dr. Al Mashat highlighted Bahrain’s significant role in the Industrial Integration Partnership, which includes Egypt, the UAE, Jordan, Morocco, as well as Qatar and Turkey, aimed at boosting collective capacity to achieve regional industrial integration and sustainable economic development.
She also provided an overview of Egypt’s economic reform journey, which includes ambitious infrastructure projects, industrial zones, agricultural complexes, and the creation of new fourth-generation cities. The Minister outlined how Egypt’s ongoing collaboration with international financing institutions supports the country’s transformation, and expressed her Ministry’s readiness to share valuable experience with Bahrain in fostering international cooperation.
Dr. Al Mashat discussed her Ministry’s enhanced focus on planning and economic development following the integration of various sectors. She elaborated on the strategic alignment of Egypt’s long-term sustainable development goals with national policies and the country’s budget framework. Additionally, she underscored the Ministry’s role in advancing Egypt’s Vision 2030 and improving the efficiency of public investment by embedding sustainability standards into the national development agenda.
The Minister concluded by reaffirming her commitment to strengthening cooperation with Bahrain, particularly in areas such as sustainable development, national voluntary reporting, and the integration of sustainability in planning and investment strategies.
