Prime Minister Visits Siemens Industry 4.0 Innovation Center

As part of tour of Knowledge City in the New Administrative Capital, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, accompanied by Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, visited the Siemens Industry 4.0 Innovation Center. This center os the first of its kind in the Middle East.

The Siemens Industry 4.0 Innovation Center was established following a memorandum of understanding signed in April 2021 between Siemens, the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), and the Industrial Modernization Center (IMC). This strategic initiative aims to raise awareness about the Fourth Industrial Revolution and its practical applications in smart factories, promote advanced manufacturing technologies for local production, and train Egyptian professionals in automation and digital transformation.

Dr. Madbouly emphasized that the center is a vital element in Egypt’s efforts to foster industrial innovation, enhance smart manufacturing, and facilitate the transfer of knowledge that can elevate the country’s industrial sector. It is also key to driving Egypt’s shift towards net-zero carbon emissions by leveraging environmentally sustainable technological applications.

Key Components of the Siemens Industry 4.0 Innovation Center:

  • Smart Factory Showroom: Displays Siemens’ latest technologies designed to serve various industrial sectors, showcasing their digital solutions and innovative products.
  • Training Lab for Industry 4.0 Digital Industries: Offers Siemens-certified training in automation, digital transformation, and advanced manufacturing technologies. It also provides consultancy services to help industries adopt digital transformation strategies.
  • Innovation Lab: Assists small, medium, and large enterprises in innovating and designing products and production lines. The lab enables engineering students to prototype their graduation projects using Siemens software.

The Smart Factory Showroom features cutting-edge Industry 4.0 technologies such as artificial intelligence-powered robotic arms, modern production lines, and 3D metal forming machines. Additionally, the showroom displays Siemens solutions aimed at reducing emissions from manufacturing processes and smart water station simulations, showcasing the company’s commitment to sustainability.

Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, highlighted the center’s role in fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors, boosting digital innovation, and reinforcing Egypt’s efforts in digital transformation. He noted that Siemens’ Industry 4.0 Innovation Center within Knowledge City is central to developing Egypt’s digital infrastructure, supporting smart manufacturing across industries, and attracting international investments.

Mostafa El-Bagoury, CEO of Siemens Egypt, underscored the company’s strategic role in Egypt’s industrial development. “The Siemens Industry 4.0 Innovation Center serves as a catalyst for Egypt’s digital transformation in industry by utilizing state-of-the-art technologies like artificial intelligence, digitalization, and automation. This collaboration will elevate Egypt’s industrial sector, aligning with our commitment to sustainable development through innovation,” El-Bagoury stated.

The Siemens Industry 4.0 Innovation Center plays a pivotal role in accelerating Egypt’s adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies and boosting the digital economy.
