Earlier today, the President of the Supreme Council of the Arab Women Organization, in its current session (2023-2025), and the President of the National Council for Women, Dr. Maya Morsi, witnessed the opening session of the 11th meeting of the Supreme Council of the Arab Women Organization.
The meeting witnessed the participation of several female ministers, heads of national mechanisms concerned with women, and ambassadors. And official delegations from 13 Arab countries that are members of the organization.
Notably, the Arab Women’s Organization announced Egypt’s acceptance of the presidency of the organization during the period from March 1, 2023, until February 28, 2025, and the authorization of Dr. Maya Morsi to head the Supreme Council of the Arab Women’s Organization during this period.
The event comes after the organization announced that it had received a letter from Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stating this, in which it expressed Egypt’s aspiration for close cooperation with the Director General of the organization during the period of Egypt’s presidency to achieve the organization’s lofty goals, most notably the empowerment of Arab women as a basic pillar for the progress of our Arab societies and an equal partner in the development process of Arab countries.
Morsi recently witnessed the activities of the 21st regular meeting of the Executive Council of the Arab Women Organization in the presence of female ministers and heads of national mechanisms who are members of the Executive Council of the Arab Women Organization; Dr. Faryal Salem, President of the Organization’s Executive Council; and Dr. Fadia Kiwan, Director General of the Arab Women Organization.
