Egypt’s Minimum Monthly Wage Will Rise to $113 Next January

The Egyptian government will increase the minimum wage paid to the private sector to 3,500 Egyptian pounds ($113) per month starting on January 1.

Over the previous two years, headline inflation in Egypt has increased significantly, hitting a record high of 38% in September before falling to 35.6% in November.

According to Reuters, the government last raised the minimum wage on July 1st, when it was set at 3,000 pounds.
