A recent report by Travel off Path, a website specializing in tourism and travel, listed the top reasons why tourists are flocking to Egyptian destinations this year.
Egypt has already welcomed over 7 million tourists in the first half of the year, and that number is expected to increase to 15 million by the end of the year. The report highlighted Egypt’s vibrant tourist cities, ancient monuments, picturesque landscapes, and reasonable prices as major draws.
One factor that makes visiting Egypt even easier is the introduction of a multiple-entry visa valid for five years. This new visa makes it simpler than ever for tourists to visit the country. Additionally, Egypt’s use of credit cards has become more common, making it easier for tourists to pay for their hotel stays, restaurant meals, and attractions.
The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities is also implementing a non-cash payment system using bank cards for entry tickets to many sites, including the Pyramids of Giza, the Unfinished Obelisk in Aswan, and the Citadel of Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi in Cairo.
Nile cruises are another popular option for tourists, especially after the movie “Death on the Nile” was released in 2022. The Grand Egyptian Museum, set to open soon, is also a major draw. It will be the largest archaeological museum dedicated to one civilization, the ancient Egyptian civilization, and will house countless artifacts, including the complete collection of treasures of King Tutankhamun. The museum is located only two kilometers away from the famous Giza pyramids.
Egypt is a safe tourist destination, and famous cities like Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, Hurghada, and Sharm El-Sheikh are open to all tourists, offering a diverse range of unique tourism and archaeological components. The report also noted new airlines and routes that have made traveling to Egypt easier than ever before.
