World Music Day on Wednesday will bring several interesting concerts to stages in Cairo and Alexandria, including Black Theama, Hany Shenouda, and Mazaher Ensemble (Zar), according to the “Ahram Online” website.

Black Theama will present new musical arrangements to celebrate the river Nile, alongside previous Black Theama hits, inspired by the rhythms of Nubia, Sudan, and Africa. The band will also feature the trio Fatma Ali with her two daughters Habiba and Farah.

While Alexandria Opera House prepares for a special concert featuring Hany Shenouda accompanied by other singers: Mona, Tina, Seif, and Issa.

The Mazaher Ensemble (Zar) will give its weekly concert at the Egyptian Center For Culture & Arts – Makan.

The musicians of Mazaher, Um Sameh, Um Hassan, and Nour El-Sabah are among the last remaining Zar practitioners in Egypt. Their music is inspired by the three different styles of the Egyptian Zar tradition.
