During a phone call to the “Hadret Al Mwaten” program, Minister of Culture Dr. Nevine El Kilany prided Hajja Zubaida as a wonderful example for Egyptian women and a role model, expressing her willingness to meet her in person and to listen to her demands and reward her.
She added that Hajja Zubaida Abdel-Aal, who earned her literacy certificate at 87, deserves to receive the greatest honor, pointing out that she is an example of a strong, patient, optimistic Egyptian woman.
Zubaida joined the “No Illiteracy with Takafol” initiative after the facilitators of the initiative arrived in her governorate, Menoufia, and offered her admittance in September 2022, said the statement.
The Egyptian woman passed her exam last January and attained her literacy certificate, which she called a “new birth certificate,” according to a statement released by the Ministry of Social Solidarity.
The initiative targets beneficiaries of the Takaful and Karama program (Solidarity and Dignity), starting at the age of 17, and runs under the supervision of the Minister of Social Solidarity, Nevine El-kabbaj.
