The Women’s International Club of Athens (WIC) has recommended Egypt as a vacation destination for its members this year.

Nesreen Osmanli, director of the office of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion at Cairo International Airport, received a 45-member delegation from the club on April 26.

The WIC, whose members come from a wide range of countries, was founded in 1976 to enhance mutual understanding among women from all countries, who live in Greece.

The members include politicians, wives of ambassadors, bank heads, the CEO of an international company, dignitaries, and businesswomen.

Osmanli said the members of the delegation would stay in Egypt until May 2.

During their stay, she added, the WIC members would visit several tourist and archaeological sites in Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan to get acquainted with the diverse and unique tourism potentials the Egyptian tourist destination offers.

Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Issa expected earlier the number of incoming tourists this year to reach 15 M.

He explained that Egypt aims to increase tourists’ numbers to 30 M annually by 2028.
