Trade and Industry Minister Ahmed Samir said the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and African markets reached about $2.117 bn in the first quarter of 2023.
His remarks came in a report that Samir received from the General Organization for Export & Import Control on trade exchange between Egypt and African countries in the first quarter of 2023.
Egypt’s commodity exports to African countries hit $1.611 bn, while Egypt’s imports stood at $506 M.
Chairman of the General Organization for Export & Import Control Essam Naggar said five major markets that received Egyptian exports included Libya at $317 M, Sudan at $226 M, Algeria at $217 M, Morocco at $191 M, and Tunisia at $86 M.
