Top Importers of Egypt in 2024

According to data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), the top 10 countries that received Egyptian exports in 2024 accounted for approximately 51.22% of the total value of Egypt’s exports last year. The total exports from Egypt reached $44.9 billion in 2024, with the top 10 destinations importing goods worth $23 billion.

Top Export Destinations: Saudi Arabia and Italy Take the Lead

The data highlights that Saudi Arabia ranked as the leading importer of Egyptian goods, with exports to the Kingdom valued at $3.4 billion. Italy followed closely in second place, also importing goods worth $3.4 billion.

United Arab Emirates and Turkey Among the Top Importers

In third place was the United Arab Emirates, importing Egyptian goods worth $3.3 billion, closely followed by Turkey with a similar value of $3.3 billion in imports from Egypt.

U.S., Libya, and the United Kingdom Rank High on the List

The United States ranked fifth, with Egyptian exports valued at $2.2 billion. Libya, which has seen an increase in trade with Egypt, took sixth place with imports amounting to $2 billion. The United Kingdom ranked seventh with exports totaling $1.6 billion.

Spain, Switzerland, and Greece Round Out the Top 10

Spain followed in eighth place with $1.5 billion in imports from Egypt, while Switzerland ranked ninth with imports valued at $1.2 billion. Greece completed the top 10 with imports totaling $1.1 billion.

Overall Growth in Egyptian Exports

In total, Egyptian exports saw a 5.4% increase in 2024, amounting to $44.9 billion, up from $42.6 billion in 2023, reflecting a $2.3 billion increase. This growth is attributed to the strong demand for key Egyptian exports in global markets.

Leading Export Goods

Among Egypt’s top exports in 2024 were petroleum products, which led the list with a value of $3.8 billion. Ready-made garments followed with $2.9 billion, while fresh fruits came in third with $2.3 billion in exports. Other major exports included fertilizers ($2.2 billion), various food preparations ($1.8 billion), and primary plastics ($1.6 billion).

The diverse export portfolio reflects Egypt’s growing presence in global markets and its increasing role as a key exporter of essential goods and materials. The country’s strategic focus on expanding export volumes to key markets continues to pay dividends, bolstering the national economy while driving forward trade relations with both regional and international partners.
