On the sidelines of the eighth Egypt Entrepreneurship Summit

Continued efforts of 5 governorates in the 16-day campaign against violence against women

The Equal Opportunities Unit of the Ministry of Local Development, headed by Eman Al-Sobki, followed the continuation of the 16-day campaign against violence against women, which is being carried out from November 25 to December 10, 2022 under the auspices of Major General Hisham Amna, Minister of Local Development, in Gharbia, Alexandria governorates, Beni Suef, Matrah and Kafr El-Shaikh.

The activities are part of the National Strategy for Support and Empowerment of Women and Egypt’s Vision 2030, as one of the fundamental pillars of development.

The activities are carried out by the Equal Opportunities Units in the governorates, with the participation of all the governorate bodies, through the intensification of awareness-raising and educational seminars and activities in support of women’s empowerment and enhancement of their role, with a view to raising awareness and creating public opinion against all forms of violence directed at women in order to enhance their role in development efforts.

Local Development Center in Saqqara receives 54 female C-suite executives today. The center offers specialized management and leadership training sessions, as 2 senior -level executives in each Governorate receive management training, as a step to empower the youth to advance their career paths with leadership development.

On the other hand, Major General Hisham Amna, Minister of Local Development, referred to the Ministry’s efforts for empowering women and integrating them into the development plans in line with the gender equity goal of Egypt’s vision 2030. Further, the training will contribute to harnessing the trainees’ professional skills and leadership capabilities.
