Agriculture and Land Reclamation Minister El Sayyed el Quseir underscored that attaining sustainability necessitates promoting cooperation among individuals, the state, the private sector, and civil society.

Sustainable development can only be attained through complete cooperation and integration of all these arms together, according to a statement by the ministry on Saturday, January 14.

The statement said Quseir’s remarks came while attending the third annual conference for sustainable development in Luxor Governorate on January 12 to 15, under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

The conference was attended by the ministers of finance, social solidarity, and emigration, in addition to several leaders of NGOs.

In a word during the ministerial session as part of the conference’s activities, Quseir highlighted the importance of the conference, held amid several challenges facing the world at large, which pose severe threats to the sustainable development issue, topped by food security.

According to him, the challenges include the Covid-19 pandemic, the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, and climate change.

All such challenges have affected the economies of countries, with a special focus on international trade flow and supply chains, in addition to reducing production in the agricultural sector, as well as upping prices of goods and products, added Quseir.
