Soha Gendi Praises Egyptian Canadian Community’s Activities to Celebrate Egyptian Heritage Month

Minister of State for Immigration and Egyptians Abroad Affairs, Ambassador Soha Gendi, praised the efforts of the Canadian Authority for Egyptian Heritage, which launched the celebrations of the Egyptian community in the Canadian province of Ontario, for the Egyptian Heritage and Civilization Month for the fifth year in a row.

The activities began last July and culminated in the artistic and cultural festival under the slogan “Discover Egypt”, inaugurated by Ambassador Ahmed Hafez, Egyptian Ambassador to Canada, and witnessed huge official and popular participation.

The celebrations included artistic and cultural activities, with the participation of many Egyptian and Arab artists and the Canadian-Arab Orchestra. This year’s celebrations also witnessed an interview with the international Canadian star of Egyptian descent, Mena Massoud, the star of the famous Disney movie “Aladdin”.

Gendi extended her sincere thanks to the Egyptians in Canada for their sincere endeavors and efforts in celebrating Egyptian Heritage and Civilization Month in a manner befitting the Egyptian state and its people, stressing that Egyptian communities in countries of the world have influential imprints within the societies in which they live, and play a major role in promoting the state and its achievements extend to a great civilization that has enriched the entire world with its treasures and culture.

The Minister also expressed her hopes for the continuation of activities to promote Egypt as a tourist destination, the country, and its achievements, and to showcase our culture and everything that our Egyptian-Arab identity reflects, such as food, arts, fashion, and folkloric performances.
