Under the auspices of Ambassador Osama Naqli, Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Cairo held a celebration on the occasion of International Day of Women in Diplomacy, which falls annually on June 24.

Khaled Al-Manzlawi, Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League for International Political Affairs; Dr. Naima Al-Qaseer, representative of the World Health Organization in Egypt; a group of media figures, public figures, and diplomats; and Kurd bin Kurdi, assistant head of the political department at the Saudi embassy, all attended and participated in the celebration.

Moreover, several Egyptian consulates abroad held ceremonies on this occasion. In the same context, Ambassador Manal Abdel Dayem, Consul General of Egypt in Milan, participated yesterday in the celebration organized by the Dean of the Consular Corps in Milan.

It is worth mentioning that the United Nations General Assembly declared Resolution 12427 last year, approving June 24th of each year as Diplomatic Women’s Day.

Egypt was among the first countries to welcome the decision of the United Nations General Assembly as an unprecedented decision to launch the annual celebration of this day on the twenty-fourth of June, in recognition of the active contribution of women in diplomatic work.
