Egyptian writer Sarah Darwish, head of the Women and Variety Department on the “Youm El 7”, celebrated the launch of her new Novel “The Green Gate to Abbyss” at the Dar Al-Masry Pavilion for Publishing and Distribution at the Cairo International Book Fair.
Darwish’s fans, friends, and family members participated in the signing ceremony. Among the most prominent attendees were novelist Rabab Kassab, poet and writer Ashraf Tawfiq, writer and designer Ahmed Al-Sabbagh, writer Aya Hammad, writer Ahmed Ali and Dr. Omar Al-Husseini, environmental engineering lecturer, writer, and journalist Ahmed Matarik, and colleagues Zainab. Abdel Moneim, Israa Abdel Qader, Israa Hosni, and Ammar Mohsen.
The story of her book revolves around a girl who receives several e-mails from an unknown person, which completely overturns her usually uneventful life. The heroin begins a journey to chase the unknown.
The novel mixes suspense and romance and discusses the problem of gray, unclear relationships that have spread widely in the recent period, and the reasons that make a girl an ideal target for toxic relationships, in addition to many issues, including emotional addiction and the experience of psychological treatment via the Internet.

Darwish dedicated the novel to every girl who thinks she is ordinary and invisible, stressing that there is always a unique side to each of us, and we just need to look at ourselves from the right angle to be able to see it.
The novel is the fourth edition of the author, who published “My Husband is Still My Love” in 2010, “Dear Refaat” in 2022, and a collection of short stories entitled “Tales of the Brown” in 2015.
