Several members of the House of Representatives called for the government to take effective and strong measures and steps to limit the population increase, which has reached the point of explosion and is causing erosion of development and negatively affecting economic growth.
The members stressed the need to pay attention to family planning and the economic empowerment of women. Some of the members called for the issuance of a law criminalizing the marriage of minors, confronting school dropouts, and activating the role of the National Population Council.
That came during the discussion of the House of Representatives in its plenary session, chaired by Counselor Dr. Hanafi Jabali, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s decision No. 632 of 2022, regarding approval of the fifth amendment to the aid grant agreement between Egypt and the United States concerning health outcomes for the targeted groups, which aims To add $13.050 M to the project.
