Presidents of Egypt, Senegal Discuss Preparations for Annual African Summit

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received on Monday, Jan. 23, a phone call from the President of the Republic of Senegal, President Macky Sall.

 

The Spokesman for the Presidency said the phone call reviewed preparations for the upcoming annual African summit, scheduled to take place next February.

 

The conversation also tackled developments in prominent files and issues of common interest at the regional and international levels.

 

President Macky Sall expressed sincere appreciation and gratitude for Egypt’s position in support of his country in various aspects of the continental action during its presidency of the African Union.

 

 He noted that this reflected Egypt’s keenness on upholding the common interests of African countries and seeking solutions to issues and crises facing the continent under the leadership of President El-Sisi.

 

In his turn, President El-Sisi congratulated President Macky Sall on his country’s successful presidency of the African Union in 2022, which witnessed numerous international and regional challenges. These challenges had huge repercussions on all political, economic, and social levels in the African Continent.
