President Sisi Extends Hassan Abdalla’s Acting Role as CBE Governor

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi issued Presidential Decree No. 551 for the year 2023 to restructure the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Egypt.

According to the presidential decree, the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Egypt will be chaired by Hassan El Sayed Hassan Abdullah, acting as the Governor of the Central Bank, effective from November 27, 2023, for a one-year term.

The Board includes Rami Ahmed Adel Abu El Naga and Tarek Mohamed Badawy El Kholy as Deputy Governors, and the membership of Mohamed Fareed Saleh, acting as the Chairman of the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority, Mohamed Ali Faramawi as a technology expert, Naglaa Anwar Al-Ahwany as an economic expert, Sherif Hussein Kamil Mohamed as a financial expert, Hassan Mohamed Hassan El Khatib as an economic expert, Samiha El Sayed Fawzi as an economic expert, Essam Mohamed Abdel Hadi Amer as an accounting and financial expert, and Mohamed Osman Ibrahim El Deep as a banking expert.
