President Abdel Fattah El Sisi directed officials in charge of aviation to proceed with intensive efforts to boost the civil aviation sector to promote its competitiveness at regional and international levels.
El-Sisi made the remarks during a meeting last Tuesday, July 18, with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Civil Aviation Minister Mohamed Abbas Helmi, and EgyptAir Holding Company Chairman Yehia Zakaria.
He stated that his demands are in line with the state’s comprehensive development drive, underlining the importance of depending on international development studies to upgrade performance and magnify the preferential advantage of the Egyptian geographical location in a way that enhances integration among the aviation and tourism sectors.
Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmi said the meeting tackled the future strategy of the civil aviation sector, especially about upgrading airports, their capacity, and developing the company’s fleet and monitoring systems.
