Planning & International Cooperation Minister Wraps Up Egyptian-Hungarian Business Forum

Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, and Péter Szijjártó, Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, recently co-chaired the Egyptian-Hungarian Joint Business Forum at the General Authority for Investment (GAFI).

The event brought together 126 companies from Egypt and Hungary across various sectors.

Al-Mashat highlighted the growing economic relations between the two countries and emphasized areas of cooperation such as construction, IT, food, water, healthcare, finance, and banking.

The Egyptian government is committed to improving the investment climate and attracting private investments, mainly from European companies.

The minister further discussed investment opportunities for Hungarian companies in renewable energy, green hydrogen, and industrial localization.

The Egyptian-Hungarian Joint Committee plays a significant role in strengthening economic cooperation, and one of its key achievements is the agreement to supply Egypt with 1,350 Hungarian-manufactured railway cars.
