NCW Thanks President El-Sisi for His Gifts to the Differently-Able

The National Council for Women, headed by Dr. Maya Morsi, extended their thanks and appreciation to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, for the valuable gifts that he granted to women with disabilities and all people with disabilities during his speech at the “Differently-Able” celebration.

Dr. Maya Morsi affirmed that the president proved that he is the greatest supporter of Egyptian women in all their segments without exception and that he is the true advocate for all women and girls with disabilities and mothers of people with disabilities to obtain their rights. His support was obvious in his wonderful meeting with a group of people with disabilities, and through his valuable gifts during his speech at the celebration.

She noted that all the President’s valuable gifts aim to provide a decent life for women and girls with disabilities, on an equal footing with others without disabilities. These are the basics laid down by the President, and he keeps confirming his commitment to applying them.

It is worth noting that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, during his speech at the celebration, directed the various state institutions to take some executive measures during the coming period, as follows:

First: Assigning the Ministry of Social Solidarity to facilitate the issuance of an integrated services card for people of determination to ensure their access to all rights and services, and to study the payment of the father’s pension to married women of determination, among others of determination.

Second: Assigning the Ministry of Youth and Sports to study the work of memberships and to allow our sons and daughters of determination to use all youth centers, youth innovation and learning centers, and youth cities, and to coordinate with sports clubs, to ensure that sports practice is available to them according to the best frameworks provided by these sports facilities. Moreover, El-Sisi urges to expand the fields of training and rehabilitation for people of determination, and include various life, artistic, cultural, and sports skills, and actively participating in and scouting activities.

Third: Assigning the Ministry of Youth and Sports also to intensify support directed at the sports championship sector and to intensify the activities and projects concerned with discovering talented and creative people of determination in various fields and providing programs and activities for people of determination aimed at raising their physical fitness, refining their sports skills, and forming sports teams from them.

Fourth: Assigning the Ministry of Housing to take into account the special needs of people of determination regarding housing projects, and determine a percentage for them, within the priorities that are allocated, following the regulations for the projects currently offered in the various new cities with the provision of an availability code in public and residential facilities.

Fifth: Assigning the Ministry of Health to provide various integrated health services for people of determination in all treatment facilities in the various governorates, and to provide additional accompanying services for patients of determination in central care, in case it’s difficult to communicate with the patient.

Sixth: Assigning the Ministry of Transport to take into account the inclusion of national projects, which are currently being implemented, such as roads, bridges, tunnels, metro stations, monorails, and others, with availability codes and all societal requirements and needs of people of determination.

Seventh: Assigning the Ministries of Education, Higher Education, Youth, Sports, and Social Solidarity to coordinate with each other to launch the Companions initiative “Differently Able” in schools, universities, youth centers, clubs, care homes, and various bodies, provided that the Council of Ministers develops an organizational mechanism to motivate citizens to participate in this initiative.

Eighth: Assigning the Ministry of Manpower to coordinate with the concerned state agencies, to formulate programs aimed at training and employing young people of determination to hone them with the requirements of the labor market, in various employment sectors, which opens up future prospects for them, and directing the study of disbursing the father’s pension, like other people with disabilities.
