NCW provides financial facilitators in three governorates with a workshop on smart green initiatives.

Within the framework of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects, the Presidential Initiative for a Dignified Life, the Savings and Digital Lending Groups Project, and the National Project for the Development of the Egyptian Family, the National Women’s Council organized a four-day workshop on “Smart Green Projects” for financial facilitators in the governorates of Fayoum, Dakhaleh, and Beni Suef.

Angie Alemani, National Director of the Council’s Financial Inclusion Program, stressed the critical role that women facilitators play in advancing environmental development by emphasizing the significance of these projects for the women in their villages and encouraging them to adopt and start implementing them. She also mentioned the empowerment that comes with meeting the challenges posed by climate change, the importance of smart green projects for village women, and the benefits that such projects have for them and the community.

The Central Directorate for Training and Development of the Council, headed by Isis Mahmoud, examined the training initiatives and awareness campaigns that the Council was offering, while the Head of the Office of the President of the Council’s Central Department for Affairs, Jehan Tawfiq, discussed Egypt’s efforts to raise awareness of women and climate change and gave a presentation on the topic to other countries and The Women’s Complaints Bureau’s Director, Amal Abdel-Monim, gave a presentation on the Office’s involvement in offering legal assistance to women.

Mai Mahmoud, Director General of the General Administration for Skills Development, presented the Council’s efforts and activities in empowering women economically through skills development.

Shima Naim, Director-General of the Strategic Management of the Council, presented the concept of strategic planning from the perspective of women’s empowerment and leadership skills.

Nshwa Mustafa, Managing Officer of Savings and Digital Lending Groups, spoke about the importance of rural women’s role in preserving the environment.

Jasmine Ali, Coordinator of the Savings and Lending Clusters Project, also explained the technical aspects of the project and answered all the questions about the blockchain raised by the project facilitators.

The workshop included an information review session on the methodology of savings, digital lending and financial education groups presented by the supervisors of Minya and Sohag governorates of Hana Aziz and Rizwa Salah.
