NCW Discusses Creating Safe Work Environment for Women in Tourism

The National Council for Women held the third meeting of the Steering Committee for the project “Creating a Safe Work Environment for Women in the Tourism Sector”, chaired by Dr. Naglaa Al-Adly, Director General of the International Cooperation and External Communications Department, and in the presence of Safaa Habib, Project Director, Samah Helmy, project expert, among partners and members of the committee, to present latest achievements and discuss recent developments.

Dr. Naglaa Al-Adly talked about the objectives of the project and future plans for the activities included within it, while Safaa Habib presented recent developments and the measures taken based on the meetings with the tourist establishments and the actual needs of the targets of the project and the results reached so far, explaining its activities and the various challenges during the last period.

Furthermore, Samah Helmy presented the report on implementing the institutional structure analysis concerning gender equality and a safe environment for women at work.

The meeting introduced important proposals and recommendations to enforce the project’s objectives, which include training workshops that target male and female hotel workers and students of faculties of tourism and hotels in targeted universities and institutes.
