Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) announced the introduction of the “Aziza” project, which aims to strengthen women-owned MSMEs, according to Basil Rahmi, CEO of MESMEDA.
This project provides soft loans to women who want to expand their existing businesses or create new ones. It also offers complete technical, training, and marketing help to ensure the long-term survival of these enterprises, particularly those in the industrial, productive, and agricultural sectors, which have the capacity to compete on both local and global scales.
The initiative gives soft loans to women who wish to grow or start new businesses. It additionally offers comprehensive technical, training, and marketing support to ensure the long-term viability of these businesses, particularly those in the industrial, productive, and agricultural sectors, which are capable of competing on both local and global dimensions.
The Aziza initiative, launched during the International Women’s Day celebrations, may be funded through any MSMEDA branch countrywide, according to Daily News Egypt.
Rahmi emphasized that the program is consistent with the government’s policy to support MSMEs, assisting them in transitioning to the formal sector and reaping the advantages of Enterprise Development Law 152/2020.
Representatives from international partner organizations and politicians attended the Aziza initiative’s launch, demonstrating MSMEDA’s strong collaborations that are targeted at promoting economic and social empowerment for women. The officials included Sylvain Merlin, UNDP’s Deputy Resident Representative, and Djibrilla Issa, the World Bank’s MENA Practice Manager for Finance, Competitiveness, and Innovation.
The event also featured several prominent female entrepreneurs from diverse manufacturing sectors, including furniture, apparel, and traditional attire. They shared how MSMEDA’s array of non-financial services had been instrumental in sustaining and expanding their businesses. Participation in various exhibitions, notably the recurrent “Turathna Exhibition”, was cited as a significant factor in enhancing their product marketing.
